This was a brilliant idea by the folks from KitchenAid. It's larger than my original bowl, and the lid that's included keeps things from drying out while they're chilling. Although it seems a bit pricey, the quality is definitely right up there with all of my other KitchenAid items. If you're thinking about buying this piece, don't hesitate.

Just adding this bowl to my 4.5qt mixer made the entire kitchen look more expensive. It just shines beautful and holds a lot. The pour spout and measurements etched in the side is great.

A glass bowl for the kitchen aid has been long time in coming. The features of freezer to microwave are great. The only disadvantage is it is a bit heavy. It only fits the smaller mixers. I hope a 6 Qt model is in the works.

Bowl is difficult to fit correctly onto the stand of the mixer without it hitting the pedestal of the mixer. It seems like the bowl is too large for the mixer, although I did verify that my model mixer is a 5 quart model. I had to contact KitchenAid to inquire about fitting the bowl correctly. I was really looking forward to having this item, but now am disappointed at how difficult it is to use.
