Nice Watch! Ноември 14, 2008 DesiInCT (HAMDEN, CT USA) This is a nice watch and really worth the money. No batteries and no setting the time ever! I tried a couple of Casio atomic watches before this one and they all had problems receiving the signal to set the time (in east coast), this watch sets it self every time I leave it over night near a window. Looks decent too, it doesn't try to be all macho and tough!
Great Idea of a Watch Ноември 10, 2008 Diverhank (Huntington Beach, CA United States) 1 от 1 намериха ревюто за полезно
I got a WVA430DJ-1A which is essentially the same as this watch with a stainless steel band. I want to place a review here so it may save you some time setting this one up. I love the idea of the watch...no battery change , no time setting of the watch needed ever, even with daylight saving (spring forward/fall back -remember to set DST to Auto). On top of that you have 30 world times and stop watch...all in a very attractive package. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because of the instructions. I had to wrestle with the settings for 2 hours before I got everything set right. Like everything, it was as much my fault as the manual's. I highly recommend that before you do anything, read the entire manual thoroughly at least one. I focused in only part of the manual I thought I needed and it messed with my head. First of all, the watch settings default was for Tokyo, Japan. The time was Tokyo time and the date was in Japanese. The manual says the first thing you do is to set your home city. This is where the error in the manual cost me a lot of time. It says step 1 In time keeping mode, hold down "A" until the indicator "US" starts to flash (the accompanying picture shows US 60)then do step 2, 3. The problem was something else was flashing (I think JPN 40) because US wasn't the default. I kept messing around and never got the "US" to flash. It won't. You should move on to steps 2 and 3 when JPN 40 flashes. Since I didn't carefully read the anual, I wasn't sure what time keeping mode was so when I didn't see the "US", I went on a wild goose chase that cost me an hour plus. Time keeping mode was explained in page E-10 that I never read. I think the rest of the manual is accurate and actually fairly well written. Here is the link for the manual: http://ftp.casio.co.jp/pub/world_manual/wat/en/qw3311.pdf If the teeny manual booklet is too hard to read, you can print this online manual out on 8.5x11 and it's much easier to read. I did a manual atomic time update, changed the language to English, shortened the band and that was it. The time on my watch matches with my other atomic clocks I have at home to the second...fantastic!
The Best Watch, PERIOD!!! Ноември 7, 2008 Jimmy Boy (PA) If you are interested in purchasing a Solar Powered Atomic Watch, then this is the watch of your dreams. I simply love this watch!! Over the course of time, I have owned many watches, but this one by far is a keeper. I love it so much, that I am going to purchase another one as a backup. I hadn't worn a watch for quite some time, so when I received my new watch, I accidentially bumped into the door latch as I was turning and put a scratch on the black outer coating of my new watch. I was very upset with myself, but it was my own fault. Low and behold after a few days, the scratch disappeared and is no longer visible. Apparently the outer epoxy type material helps keep the watch semi indestructable. The accuracy is amazing, and once I reached HIGH on the battery charge, any normal light exposure (indoors or out) will keep the battery charged. Here is a tip for you, if you have a compact flourescent desk lamp, let the watch soak up all that light for about one to two hours. Once it reaches it's HIGH battery state, then you have absolutely no worries about ever losing battery power. Just make certain that you fully charge up the battery with as much light as possible until it reads HI on the display. As far as comfort goes, the watch is very lightweight, and it's a joy to wear. Casio definately did a great job when they engineered the size, shape, look, and feel of this watch. Bottom line, if you want to purchase a Solar Powered Atomic Watch, AND you want it to definately be a keeper for a vey long time, then invest in this watch. It took me about a two months of research to finally decide on this particular model, and boy am I glad I pulled the trigger and bought it. I would easily give this watch TEN STARS, but unfortunately I am limited to FIVE STARS in this review. If you are on the fence like I was, JUST DO IT. You will be so glad you did.
nice watch for the money Октомври 21, 2008 S. Berk (FL) 1 от 1 намериха ревюто за полезно
i am very satisfied with this purchase. The manual is a bit of a bear, but once mastered, the watch works perfectly. seems to sych the time almost everynight even when i'm wearing it. Nice to have a watch that always has exact time and never needs batteries or winding.
High quality, good value watch Октомври 20, 2008 E. Laranjo (USA) I really enjoy this watch. It is stylish yet sporty. I have owned other Casio watches that were very large and bulky, and they were always tough and reliable. But this watch is tough without being bulky, and looks great even in a professional environment. Best features are the automatic time and date update - no more setting the time. It always has the perfect time and automatically updates every night. It also never needs a battery because it is solar powered - it does have a battery but it is recharged each day just with normal light exposure. It has a lot of digital options like alarms and back light, and you can display either the time or the day and date on the digital screen. You can set it to automatically adjust for daylight savings time - no more changing the time twice a year - the watch does it automatically. Great watch, very comfortable, great price, and Casio watches are always very durable and will last many, many years. I highly recommend this watch. My only complaint is the instruction booklet is not always clear on how to adjust the watch settings. But once you have it set they way you want, there is nothing else you need to do for the life of the watch.
