The player does not have an on/off switch. Rather you have to hold the "play" button for a minimum of 3 seconds for the device to turn on. You have to push until the pad of your finger turns white and is sore.
The Lock feature has to be programmed to function. There's no Lock/unlock button externally. This player is tedius to say the least.
The worst is that the player just stopped working after 5 months.
Creative's custumer contact (800) telephone number takes you nowhere to speak to no one. Online contact leads to a deadend as well.
They have not honored their one year parts warranty.
I now have to go to the trouble to file a formal complaint. I will not do business with this company again. NO!

Hi all,
I got a zen 8gb Creative Zen MX 8 GB Video MP3 Player (Black) a week back. I would like to tell u that its one of the best i have got till now at a very reasonable price.
Details,
price- 60$ with super package.
Memory- 8GB.
Ease of use: Reading manual is what all should do to get a better understanding of how to store music and different options which is not at all complicated.
Sound quality- Comparable to Ipod and Iphone and it has a good bass effect.
Video Recorder- Can record 10 hours at one stretch and can be used till the memory is used up.
USB connection- Can be connected to a computer and the recorded music or conference can be transferred to the Local PC very easily and can be played in the mp3 format.
Video - Can watch videos while traveling with good quality.
Radio FM - Auto tuning available and around 5 stations are available.
No camera- so cant record the videos and take pictures.
Pictures- Can store pictures.
Extras include date and time, Organizer for calender, tasks etc.
Battery backup- As the website says that it has 32 hours of batt backup, is absolutely true.
Charging- Charges from empty to full charge within 3 hours.
I suggest you to go for it because of the super features it has and that too you are getting it for just 60$. It has a warranty of 1 year also.

Ever since I got my Creative Zen MP3 Player I have been hooked. I take it everywhere with me -on my commute, my workouts and any other chance I get. I added a SD card to store all my music files and I use the availabe memory on the mp3 player for all my audiobooks. The menu is very easy to navigate and the sound quality is great. I only had an issue with it once or twice when it completely went dead even though there was enough battery life left on it. But one easy push of the reset button brought it right back to life. Other than that I have no complaints. I can only recommend this player.

Love my Zen. This things holds all the songs and pictures I need. The sound quality is excellent. The easy of use, wow the battery life. I listen to this about 3 hrs/day and only have to charge it ever couple of days or so. Excellent product for the money.

I have the Creative Zen MX 8GB. I have had no problems so fall.I have had it for about 2 months. I use it for my music and my ebooks from the library. So easy to use.
